Book Themes
Silenced, But Not Broken
This image represents the forced silence victims endure — the fear, confusion, and loss of control that follows violence. In Not My Fault, the author shares the reality of being silenced by fear, threats, and disbelief, and the lifelong impact that silence can have on a survivor’s mind and spirit.
Held Captive, Fighting to Live
Bound hands symbolize captivity — physical, emotional, and psychological. The memoir details moments of restraint, intimidation, and terror, but also the strength it took to endure, resist, and survive. Even in captivity, the will to live never disappeared.
Reaching for Freedom
This image reflects the desperate reach for help, justice, and freedom. It represents survival beyond trauma — the determination to escape not only the crime itself, but the shame, blame, and silence imposed afterward.
“I survived what was meant to destroy me. I refused to be silenced, erased, or blamed. It was never my fault.”
